HORIZON EUROPE CONFERENCE – PTEC
The Horizon Europe Conference organized by the PTEC (Spanish Technological Platform for Construction) was a success. In it, very relevant information was shared about the opportunities for the construction sector in this new Framework Program and keys for participation. Our colleague Miriam Labrado from IDVIA 2020 HORIZONTE 2020 SL participated in the Round Table: Success Cases in H2020.
“PAROST: The only way to prevent it is to be able to predict it”
Miriam Labrado
Civil Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She has more than 9 years of experience in research and development projects in the field of Civil Engineering, both nationally and internationally. Since 2017 she has been a partner in IDVIA, a Valencian SME dedicated to the diagnosis of the structural health of bridges.
Presentation description
IDVIA was created more than 10 years ago to provide highly specialized engineering consulting services. Thanks to years of research, and European support for our PAROST project through the SME Instrument Phase 2, we can now become the company that will revolutionize the civil infrastructure monitoring market around the world.
PAROST is a disruptive solution capable not only of identifying, locating and quantifying structure damage, but also accurately predicting how such damage will evolve in the future. This feature makes PAROST a disruptive innovation compared to structural health monitoring (SHM) systems that exist on the market.
In our presentation we will share our own experience and recommendations, exposing how European support facilitates access to key resources necessary to go from a prototype to a product or service ready to be marketed, which allows the company to grow and internationalize.

PAROST is a low cost and easy to install system capable of not only identifying (locating and quantifying) visible and non-visible structural damage in civil engineering concrete structures but also predicts their evolution over time for making cost-effective maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement decisions (MR&R), and to ensure that safety, serviceability and functionality of the structure can be sustained over its designed service life. The latter makes PAROST a real disruptive breakthrough in the structural health monitoring area considering all existing SHMs on the market.
